Game Of Thrones Food - White Beans And Bacon

Day 2 of trying the Game Of Thrones cuisine!  Next up is white beans and bacon from King's Landing!  This dish was absolutely amazing, delicious, and super easy.  Out of everything I've tried so far from A Feast Of A Fire And Ice:  The Official Game Of Thrones Cookbook I would recommend this dish.  Try it out for your season 3 premiere party this Sunday!

4 pieces of bacon
1 small onion, chopped
1 head curly endive, leaves rinsed and torn
2 large garlic cloves, chopped
1 cup dried white beans, 16 oz can of white beans
Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Cook the bacon in a large saucepan over medium- high heat until crisp.  Remove the bacon from the pan and set it on paper towels to drain.  Add the onion to the drippings and saute until tender.

Add half the endive leaves and cover the pot, cooking until the endive leaves are wilted, about 5 minutes.

Add the remaining endive and the garlic, then cover and cook until the endive has wilted again.

Add the beans and bacon, cooking until the beans are heated through, stirring often.  Season with salt and pepper and serve.

I fully recommend making the white beans and bacon for your season 3 snacking pleasure.  It was really great!  Tomorrow I'm going to taste the apple cakes from The Wall.  Check back!
